A range of great recipes listed by cuisine from the PlanBuyCook meal planning app

A really easy approach to meal planning is to divide the weekdays into cuisine days. This might be Monday is Italian night, so rotate a few Italian meals through a month of Mondays. Here is an easy guide to PlanBuyCook meals you can match to days of the week by cuisine.

Asian cuisine has become a fixture of Australian eating, with fabulous Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai and Indonesian cuisine now a part of our daily eating. Get some inspiration from our app with Japanese pancake (okonomiyaki), Gado Gado, Asian Beef Mince, Vietnamese Chicken Salad, Pad Thai, Stir Fry Mince with XO Sauce, two versions of San Choy Bau, Wontons, or Vegetable Stirfry to name just a few of the 30+ recipes using Asian flavours.

How much do we love a great curry? Indian and other sub-continent food on the app includes Split Pea Dahl, Indian Chicken Marinade, Chick Pea Curry, Lamb Curry, and Nepalese Chicken curry.

Nothing says Middle Eastern food like a tagine. On the PlanBuyCook app we have Lamb Tagine, Vegetable Tagine, Chicken & Lemon Tagine, as well as Lamb Kibbeh, Felafel, Tabouli, Poached Chicken and Lamb with Rice.

Italian and Greek food is a staple in weekly cooking in most Australian households. Our app features a great Spaghetti Bolognese recipe, Lasagne, Italian Meatballs, Chicken & Veal Pasta Sauce, Pesto, Osso Buco, Pizza Dough, as well as a recipe for Greek Salad, Spanakopita, our marinades and Grecian Beef. For a more modern take on traditional risotto, check out our Silverbeet Risotto.

A nod to some British heritage includes comfort food like Cottage Pie, Homemade Baked Beans, Sausages & Mash, Chicken Pie with Potato Topping, Roast Chicken and Potatoes.

A little taste of Mexico comes in the form of two varieties of Quesadillas (your traditional Bean Quesadillas, as well as Potato and Zucchini), Tacos and Chilli con Carne. Our South American Chicken recipe provides a little dash of South America to our app recipes. And from North America, we got some inspiration for our Meatloaf, Hamburgers, Chocolate Chip Cookie and Brownie recipes.

And of course, for something uniquely Australian, you can’t go past Vegemite as an ingredient. Our Vegemite Savoury Scrolls are a quick lunch filler that utilise this salty Aussie spread. And our Anzac biscuits of course.

Did you know you can search by cuisine in the search box of the PLAN tab on the app?

Tip of the week

Salads are best served at room temperature. If making them in advance, take them out of the refrigerator in time to get to room temp.
